What They Said…..

We attended the Soapfest this year for the first time and had an awesome time! We had no idea how it worked, but the weekend far exceeded any expectations that we may have had. We are planning on attending again next year and we were wondering if ya'll do any kind of notifications. We were really lucky this year to sit with our first choice at the VIP dinner and to be on the boat. Thanks again for a fantastic time and we're glad it was for a good cause!

I just wanted to take the time to tell you what a great event Soapfest was. This was my 1st year attending. It was probably one of the best events I have ever attended. Everyone was so nice and the events were just the right amount of people. It gave you such a nice time to spend with the actors and really talk to them and get to know them. I can’t wait until next year. I know you all must have worked really hard on this event, so I just wanted to say what a nice job you all did. Thanks for the best weekend ever.

The whole weekend was great. You did such a marvelous job and everyone had a fabulous time. I got to spend a lot of time with John D., Jeff, Caitlin and Jon Prescott (who is my new boyfriend!) He is such a doll. As I got to my gate at the airport Sunday evening, I ran into most of them leaving, there were across from me so I got to spend another half hour with a lot of them, that was a real bonus.

Thanks again for this past weekend. I had such a great time with all the activities planned and executed by the Soapfest crew. Look forward to next year.

Many thanks for paving the way for Troy to attend the Soapfest. This past Saturday was the highlight of his life. He had such a great time and, as his Mom, I was overwhelmed while watching how nice everyone was to him. These young people need to be commended on the outstanding attitudes they all appear to have towards the “special” population. Troy had many nice conversations with everyone while getting their autographs.

We fell into bed at 2:30am after the "Bardenders Bash". Troy danced his heart out and was so happy that the soap stars all danced with him and cuddled up with lots of kisses. Troy especially commented on one of the gals - "she was drunk & flirting with me and I loved it"!

I just wanted to say again how much fun we had at the Soapfest. I think it will be an event my daughter and wife will never forget.

I just wanted to thank you for putting together such a spectacular event again this year! I had a wonderful time, it was great to meet so many of the new cast members from As The World Turns. Needless to say sharing a table and spending time with John was special as always. He such a wonderful young man. He spent most of the night waiting on all of us ladies at the table, what a gentleman! It was good to finally get to meet you and I look forward to seeing you again next year.

To all you Soap Stars, thanks for taking the time for autographs, pictures and sharing with us. The party at the Bistro Soleil was fun, especially the art auction when we were on stage with the Stars from “All My Children” and “One Life to Live”. We’re happy the pictures we painted in the morning brought a lot of money for the Kids. We want to thank the Stars who won our artwork for their generosity. The paintings you donated back to us are proudly displayed in our condo in Cape Coral, Florida.

We danced our hearts out at the Bartenders Bash. Thanks for the great dances and kisses from the Stars. Looking forward to seeing everyone at Soapfest in May 2010.

Just want to send you a “Big Congratulations” on your SWFL Soapfest charity weekend this year. As always, we had a wonderful time and enjoyed meeting all the Stars. They are all so pleasant and it was wonderful to spend time with them. Laura, Lindsey and I are so happy you had a record year this year. The bidding on the paintings was such a highlight and I’m still asking myself, who was that guy? He was truly an Angel as you say and I’m so happy for you and I thank all your volunteers who always do such a great job.
No thinking about canceling next year for now you are on a roll to do even better and better and we plan on being there to help such a worthwhile cause.

I wanted to send along thanks to you and all of the volunteers, it was a fantastic weekend! Thanks for everything!

I liked it even more than the year before. I loved the Old Marco Inn for a venue. The cruise was fabulous as ever. Loved the group of actors. I'm sure you will do another great job next year, pick the first weekend again and I'll celebrate my birthday all over again. Send me the dates as soon as you pick them so we can reserve our rooms and get our plane tickets. Much fondness, and we will visit next time, ONE WAY OR ANOTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to Pat and all of her volunteers for making my weekend so special. I can tell you that the Soapfest weekend is one of the best weekends of the year and I always look forward to it. I know it takes a lot of hard work and it does not go unnoticed nor unappreciated. You have opened up a world for us soap lovers that many would not be able to participate in. Thanks so much for that. I know the kids love you, too, for helping them out. That even makes it more special. So thank you, thank you, thank you!

I am already looking forward to next year.

I had such a good time this year in Southwest Florida. The VIP dinner and the bartender bash were a lot of fun. I also enjoyed the cruise, and meeting the kids and the stars. I think my favorite moments were getting to spend one on one time with the actors. It was great to see everyone having a good time as we came together for such an important cause. I can't wait for next year.

Thank you for a wonderful experience at SoapFest 2009. This was my first fan event and I had a ‘fan’tastic time! There were so many great opportunities to meet my favorite actors. And everyone was so friendly-the actors, the other fans, your staff, and everyone at Marco Island. It was easy to feel relaxed and have fun. You have a wonderful event where I got to meet some great new friends, have personal interactions with the actors, and support a worthwhile cause.

I can’t wait ‘til next year!

Thanks so much for another amazing Soapfest Experience! This year was my second year attending, and it was such a pleasure! I took advantage of the opportunity to do VIP seating at dinner this year, and it was so much fun chatting with Van Hansis. The Celebrity Bartender Bash was an absolute blast...my favorite of the three events...with great music, and all of the celebrities seemed to be having a good time and were so friendly and engaging. And finally, the cruise! Thanks so much for shifting back to a larger boat this year! It made for a really enjoyable experience!

I hope circumstances allow us to get together again for another great event next spring! Congratulations on the amazing fundraising success, and continued good luck!

Wow, I am still riding high from all the fun I had at Soapfest this year! I attended in 2008 for the first time, and absolutely loved it. Since then, I’ve had a chance to attend some other fan events, and this one is still my favorite! And, this year was even better!! I did the VIP seating and I got to sit with one of my favorite actors at the Night of Stars dinner. What a treat! That was definitely one of the highlights, but I went to all three events, and I had a great time at each of them. It was so much fun mingling (and dancing) with other soap fans, and I got lots of face time with all my favorite actors, who were all really warm and friendly!! Plus, the Q&A, the karaoke, the auctions, etc. were all entertaining and fun! And, one of the best parts is that we were all there to help a great cause!!! I just can’t say enough great things about this event! Thanks so much to everyone involved for making Soapfest such a fantastic, one-of-a-kind experience for the fans and actors alike. I can’t wait for next year!!!

I wanted to send a quick note and say thanks again for the wonderful time at SoapFest '09 in Marco Island. We have been to every SSW in Orlando and sadly enough didn't even know this event existed until this year, such a shame we missed out on 10 years! This will be one of many years for us to attend. Everything was well done and we even got to bring a piece of artwork home. It's a great cause and I applaud you and the actors for making it so worthwhile.

Thank you for a terrific experience at SoapFest 2009. This was my first soap event, and my two guests and I had a great time at all three events ... especially the Night of Stars Dinner! We especially enjoyed the "intimate" island setting to interact with the actors and fellow fans - had a chance to speak to Van Hansis several time over the weekend. The actors were all very friendly and truly there for the fans. We also had a truly great time meeting other NUKE fans. Marco Island was a beautiful setting for the event. Overall, the event was more than we expected ... new friends, the actors and knowing that we were helping a great cause - Autism - which touches the lives of several of my colleagues in Columbus.

Looking forward to next year ...
